Anyone interested in running for school board in Des Moines County has until July 30th to file their paperwork at the Des Moines County Courthouse.
Des Moines County Auditor Carol Copeland says that the filing period officially began on Monday. The election is September 8th.
There are four positions up in the Burlington School Board. The positions of Tammy Darnall, Marlis Robberts, Mike Shinn, and Mike Warner are up for reelection.
In West Burlington, four positions are up for election, including those of Dan Hockett, Larisa Conner, Michelle Randall.
In Danville, three positions will be contested, those of Brian Bauer, Scott Becker, and Allan Luers.
In Mediapolis, four positions are open, including District 1 Representative Brad Coates, District 2 Representative Steve Nelson, District 5 Representative Tony Coates, and District 7 Representative Toby Gordon.
Southeastern Community College has three positions up for election. Those of District 1 Trustee Bryan Ross, District 4 Trustee Moudy Nabulsi, and District 5 Trustee Janet Fife-LaFrenz.
Filing period for the Burlington City Primary will be August 10th-27th.
Other municipalities will file between August 24th and Sept 17th.
