In the Class 2A Softball Regional it was Pekin routing Danville 12-0 in the opening round of the tournament. In Class 1A play it was Van Buren over Winfield-Mount Union 15-3. In nonconference play it was Washington over Central Lee, 5-2.
Baseball Action saw Clinton taking a Double Header with Burlington, 3-0 and 2-1. West Burlington beat Wapello 12-1. New London over Lone Tree 4-0. Winfield-Mount Union beat Danville, 4-2.
Burlington Bees aren’t having a great road trip. They fell again last night to the Peoria Chiefs, 2-1. They’ve lost four in a row.
Chicago Cubs took a double header from the Cardinals in Chicago last night, winning 7-4 and 5-3. A Grand Slam lifted the Royals over the Rays in the first game of a double header, 9-5, second game was also won by the Royals, 7-1. Twins beat Baltimore, 8-3.
