Carman Man Arrested After Demanding Overdue Rent with Gun

A Carman man who allegedly forced his way in to a rental property with a gun and demanded overdue rent from the occupying tenant was arrested yesterday by Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies.

44 year old Charles L. Weinert was arrested without incident after being found sitting on the deck of a rural Carman home with a 9mm Pistol. Sheriff’s deputies say that Weinert endered the home and threatened the resident with the gun. He was transported to the Henderson County Jail and is facing charges of Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Restraint, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID card.

His bail was set at $100,000. He posted 10% of that amount and was released.

He’s due in court July 15th.
