Cleanup Continues In Tornado-Hit Cameron

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says that crews will be making their way through the tornado-devastated town of Cameron, IL, today, cutting up fallen trees and stacking up timber for pickup.

Homeowners are still picking up the pieces of their homes and their lives after the small Illinois town just Southeast of Monmouth sustained a direct hit from an EF2 Tornado on Thursday.

Remarkably, only two minor injuries occurred as a result of the tornado. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner visited the town Friday.

Persons wishing to make monetary donations are requested to coordinate with the American Red Cross. It is noted several Facebook pages and sites have sprung up for receipt of monetary donations. These sites have NOT been sanctioned by Unified Command.

Roads are still closed off to non-residents and non-volunteers.
