16 tons of sweet corn was shucked in under 2 hours at Shuckfest in preparation for the Sweet Corn Festival on Wednesday.
The event is held in the parking lot of Shuckfest Sponsor Merchman Seeds, which fast becomes full of corn and volunteer shuckers. Lee county Bank and trust, also a sponsor, prepares and serves food at the event for the shuckers.
The people of West Point consider Shuckfest to be a true community event.
