A Canton, Missouri Man was seriously injured on Wednesday when his large truck rolled over near the intersection of 235th Avenue and Carbide Lane.
A press release from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office says that 49 year old James Philips Downs was westbound on Carbide Lane when he attempted to turn on to 235th avenue and was unable to negotiate the turn, skidding across both lanes and rolling the 2000 Mack Truck in the ditch.
Downs was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Jaws of Life. He was flown via Air Evac Helicopter to Blessing Hospital in Quincy before being transported to Barnes Jawish Hospital in St. Louis for additional treatment.
The accident occured around 2pm.
