Both the Iowa State and University of Illinois basketball teams lost overseas exhibition games to start their European tours on Wednesday. Iowa State fell to the Venezuelan National Team 82-77 in Madrid, Spain. Illinois lost to the Netherlands National Team 81-54 in Rotterdam. The Dutch team is comprised of professional players currently training for Europe’s highest level basketball competition, Eurobasket.
The PGA Championship tees off today. Defending PGA Champion Rory McIlroy is back after hurting his ankle playing soccer, and he’s looking to take on Jordan Spieth, the 21 year old American who won both the US Open and the Masters this year. That tournament runs through Sunday.
St. Louis Cardinals took down the Pirates, 4-2, Cubs beat the Brewers, 3-2, Royals Fell to the Tigers 7-4, White Sox beat the Angels 3-2, and the Twins beat the Rangers, 11-1.
