McIlroy, Spieth Fall to Day at PGA Champs

It wasn’t Rory McIlroy and it wasn’t Jordan Spieth that took home the trophy at the PGA championship last night. It was Jason Day who came out on top of the field, he had 5 under 67 to finish at a record 20 under par. Spieth, who won both the US Open and the Masters this year, shot 17 under par, he never came within two shots of day–but he still passed up McIllroy, who finished 17th, in the rankings as #1 player in the world.

Matt Kenseth was the winner in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Michigan International Speedway. He beat runner-up Kevin Harvick by 1.7 seconds.

The nine game winning streak enjoyed by the Chicago Cubs did not reach 10, thanks to the piching efforts of their cross-town rival, the White Sox. Sox won 3-1. Cardinals fell to the Marlins 6-4. Twins beat the Indians 4-1. Royals beat the Angels 4-3.

Burlington Bees broke their 5 game losing streak. They beat the Dayton Dragons, 6-2.
