West Burlington School Board Adopts Three New Resolutions As Legislative Priorities

The West Burlington Independent School District held its August school board meeting on Monday to discuss the legislative priorities which resulted in adopting three newly revised resolutions.

The three resolutions now set as legislative priority are to support all funding following open enrolled students, support legislator following their own rules with establishing SSA according to the law and to support a preschool program.

The west Burlington School Board also approved twenty-one students for continued and new open enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year. All nine students on a waiting list for open enrollment where denied for the 2015-2016 school year due to the class size cap policy.

After accepting the resignation from high school science instructor, Najam Uddin and high school assistant Christy Lau, the school board approved a replacement high school science instructor, and added to the roster a new high school baseball coach, a high school boy’s basketball assistant, and a junior high cheerleading coach.
