Burlington Man Charged for Leaving Child in Car at FunCity

BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) — A 33-year-old man is accused of leaving his 4-year-old daughter in an unlocked minivan for nearly two hours in a parking lot at the FunCity complex in Burlington.

The Hawk Eye reports (http://bit.ly/1MIvnaR ) that Mickey Sourwine, of Burlington, is charged with misdemeanor child endangerment. Online court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could be contacted to speak on Sourwine’s behalf.

A court document says officers were sent to the complex on Aug. 12 after someone had spotted the girl in the vehicle, which still had keys in the ignition and its front windows rolled down. The girl was taken inside the complex and turned over to Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation agents assigned to the Catfish Bend Casino.
