Christopher King Released From Jail After Posting Bond

The former Burlington City Councilman and Photography Studio owner charged with sexually abusing teenage girls after luring them through his business is once again out of jail after posting $40,000 bond.

According to inmate records, 41 year old Christopher King bonded out of the Des Moines County Correctional Center on Friday. This comes less than a week after a District Court Judge denied a motion to reduce King’s bond.

King was arrested in early May on several counts, including three counts of sexual abuse, indecent exposure and providing alcohol to a minor. After being released on bond in June, he was rearrested on new charges, including four new sexual abuse charges, in July.

Police say they have identified more than three dozen girls between the ages of 13 and 18 who have said they were molested by King. In most of the cases, police say, King met the girls through his photography studio, offered them alcohol, then drove them to remote areas in the county where they were attacked.

King served on the Burlington City Council from 2002 to 2005.
