On Tuesday Iowan’s Will Use Rubber Duckies to Protest Iowa’s Governor for His Public Services Veto

DES MOINES – On behalf of Iowans across the state, Progress Iowa will deliver petition signatures and 1,000 rubber duckies to Governor Terry Branstad. The delivery is the result of a petition campaign started last week in response to Governor Branstad’s misguided priorities: spending his administration’s time raising funds for a reflecting pool while vetoing public services.

Earlier this summer, Governor Terry Branstad vetoed funding for K-12 education, mental health institutes, and our universities, while his administration was busy raising money behind the scenes for a private foundation for a reflecting pool at his Terrace Hill mansion. More than 750 have signed the petition criticizing Governor Branstad for his failed priorities and slashing funding for Iowa’s public services.
