Warrant Issued by Burlington Police in Connection to Sunday Morning Shooting on Angular St.

Burlington Police are now looking for a man in connection with an early morning shooting in the 300 block of Angular Street.

On August 23 at approximately 3:56am, officers were dispatched to the 300 Angular housing complex in response to a complaint of shots being fired. Officers later located a vehicle that had evidence that it had been struck by recent gunfire.

Investigation revealed that a party had taken place in the 300 Angular complex in which an individual, later identified as Dwayne G. Jefferson, had physically assaulted several of the partygoers. As those victims attempted to flee from Jefferson, witnesses indicate that he produced a handgun and fired several rounds at a vehicle attempting to leave. Jefferson then fled the area on foot.

No one was injured in the shooting. Authorities have obtained warrants for Jefferson’s arrest and are actively seeking him at this time.

Dwayne G. Jefferson, age 21, of Burlington is wanted for felony charges that include, two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of going armed with intent.
