DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — A former Davenport psychiatrist disciplined more than a decade ago for having a sexual relationship with a patient has had his Iowa medical license reinstated.
The Quad-City Times reports that 45-year-old Sridhar Yaratha of Glen Allen, Virginia earned the August 28th reinstatement after paying a $10,000 penalty.
The action comes after Yaratha had his license suspended indefinitely in 2004 for the inappropriate relationship. He also had a drunken driving arrest in 2002.
He recently applied for reinstatement, the board reported, saying he has been sober for 10 years and also completed a sexual misconduct evaluation in 2005.
The psychiatrist also participated in a professional boundaries program in 2006.
