Customers Evacuate Downtown Restaurant After Fire Alarm Sounds

Customers had to be evacuated from Martini’s Grille in Downtown Burlington on Saturday after the fire alarms went off at River Park Place following a smell of smoke inside the six-story building.

Customers, many of them with their drinks still in hand, evacuated the restaurant a few minutes before 8:00pm on Saturday. Fire officials searched the building, but found no fire or anything out of the ordinary and allowed customers to return about a half hour later.

The building is also home at several businesses, SCC classrooms, the Greater Burlington Partnership, as well the Pritchard Broadcasting Radio Stations.
