Sports for 9/14

NFL week one action really kicked off last night and with a few big surprises, too. The St. Louis Rams took down the Super Bowl-runner up Seattle Seahawks 34-31 after stopping Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch on fourth and one in overtime on the Rams 43rd yard line.

Green Bay Packers met the Chicago Bears in their first game of the season. Packers won 31-23. Kansas City Chiefs took down the Houston Texans, 27-20.

In Baseball, Cardinals took down the Reds 9-2 preventing a four game sweep. Cubs were downed by the Phillies 7-4. Twins blanked the White Sox 7-0. Royals fell to the Orioles 8-2.

In Tennis, Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer to take home the US Open Trophy last night in New York.

In Golf, Lydia Ko won the Evian Championship to become the youngest champion in LPGA history at only 18 years old.
