Missouri Fugitive Arrested in Burlington

A man wanted by police in Missouri was captured by Burlington Police on Wednesday.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Department in Missouri advised Burlington police detectives that a fugitive by the name of Tyrone Nicholas Todd, age 40, of Knox City Missouri, fled from their jurisdiction to Burlington.

On Wednesday Burlington police detectives conducted a surveillance operation for several hours in the South Hill area. Detectives were able to narrow the fugitive’s location to the 600 block of South 12th St., where surveillance continued. At approximately 3:31 p.m., detectives observed Todd emerged from a vehicle in that area and was taken into custody without incident. Todd is being held in the Des Moines County Jail pending extradition to Missouri.

Todd was wanted on felony warrants for Criminal Sexual Assault and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
