Sports for 9/16

The Kansas City Royals dropped a game to the Cleveland Indians last night 8-3 on the road. Royals homered off of Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco’s very first pitch, but he went on to throw a solid six innings. Kansas City is still on top of the American League Central, Cleveland is chasing a Wild Card spot.

Minnesota Twins took down the once-dominant Detroit Tigers 7-1 after a big first inning where Detroit starting pitcher Kyle Lobstein allowed four runs and was pulled from the game.

Prep Volleyball, Holy Trinity took down Harmony in a three game sweep. Quincy Notre Dame swept Illini West in Carthage.

In Monday night football action the Atlanta Falcons met the Philadelphia Eagles, winning by just a nose, 26-24 after squandering an early lead.

And NASCARs Jimmy Johnson will continue racing with Hendrick Motorsports after signing a new 2 year contract with the team.
