Municipal Ballot Lists Released Ahead of November Elections

The full municipal ballots for Des Moines County voters have been finalized and released by the County Auditors Office.

Voters in Burlington will have four choices for the two seats on the Burlington City Council: incumbent Mayor Shane McCampbell, John Fenton, Dan Wischmeier, and Antoinette Wilson. They’ll also be voting on the Police Station Bond Referendum, not to exceed $4 million.

In West Burlington, incumbent Mayor Hans Trousil is the only person on the ballot for the mayor’s office. Four candidates are contesting the three City Council seats: incumbents Rod Crowner, Therese Lees, and Rick Raliegh, and Gary Deen.

In Danville, Leroy Lippert is the sole candidate for the Mayor’s seat. Three candidates are running for the three seats on the city council, including Matthew Mutchler, Jerry Strause, and Duane Worthy.

In Mediapolis, Gina Riherd is the sole candidate for the Mayor’s Office. Three candidates are running for two seats on the council: Tim Licko, Vollie Rifner, and Jim Spence.

In Middletown, Douglas A. Coyle is the only person on the ballot for the Mayor’s position. Three seats are up for reelection on the city council, however only two candidates will be on the ballot: Ryan Freitag and Earl Martin.

The election will be held November 3rd.
