Student’s Body Found in University of Northern Iowa Dorm

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a University of Northern Iowa student whose body was found in her dorm room.

University President Bill Ruud said in an email to students and staff that the body of Caitlyn Rae Burns, a freshman from Le Claire, was found around noon Wednesday.

The cause of her death is being investigated, but officials don’t suspect that a crime is involved. University Police Chief Helen Haire didn’t immediately return a call Thursday.
