Kevin William Penrod, 55 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 1:38 am Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. He was born in Iowa on May 21, 1960, a son of Leroy S. and Marilyn E (Hocker) Penrod. His mom died when he was 6 years old. He was raised by his father and step-mother, Eva B Penrod.

Kevin lived in the area all his life and attended Fort Madison High School. He worked for Reilly Construction for years and later did maintenance at The Kensington for 6 years. He bowled leagues for years, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife and soul mate of 35 years, Kathy Higgins, of Fort Madison, Iowa; his father, Leroy Penrod, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one daughter, Tabitha (Jeremy) Kemper, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one son, Allen Penrod, of Fort Madison, Iowa; three brothers: Kenny Penrod, Kelly (Jody) Penrod, and Kent (Tina) Penrod, all Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Kassie Penrod (Kevin Carlson), of Fort Madison, Iowa; three grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mothers: Marilyn and Eva.

Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. His family invites friends to join them to celebrate his life from 3:00 – 6:00 pm Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Shopton Park, Fort Madison, Iowa. Doyle Reed Borchert, age 82, currently of rural Letts and formerly of Wapello, died Wednesday morning, September 23, 2015, at home. The son of Kenneth and Dorothy Ferber Borchert, he was born on July 5, 1933 in Dallas, Iowa. He married Marlys Fletcher Tompkins on October 3, 1981 in Washington. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2015.

Doyle served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a forklift operator and was a shift foreman at Kent Feeds where he retired in 1988. He enjoyed car shows and travelling and attending sporting events with his grandsons.

His family includes a son, Steven Borchert of Muscatine; a daughter, Victoria Borchert of Muscatine; a son Scott Tompkins of Crescent, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Tina & Steve Allen of Letts; a daughter, Lori & Paul Posey of Crescent, Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Amber Borchert of Bettendorf; three grandsons, Aaron Allen & Elise Robinson of Letts, Michael Allen & Sarah Martin of Muscatine, and Caleb Posey of Crescent, Oklahoma; a great granddaughter, Oakley Allen; and a sister Carole & Earl Schwert of Boscobel, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marlys.

The funeral ceremony for Doyle Borchert will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello with Pastor Dan Doolin officiating. Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery.

The family will meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday at the Solid Rock Baptist Church.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Memory Lane Cruisers.
