First half of property tax payments are due by Wednesday September 30th for all Des Moines County property owners.
Payments can be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office until 4:30 p.m., or paid online at www.iowatreasurers.org until 11:59 p.m., September 30th.
Credits and debit cards are accepted in the office as well as E-checks and credit cards online. However, there is a service fee for this convenience whether in the office or online. If remitting by mail, your payment must be postmarked on or before September 30th to avoid interest, so be sure to check the collection time on the mail box used to make certain of a timely postmark!
Interest of 1 1/2 percent per month will be added to this payment beginning Thursday, October 1, 2015.
