One Injured During Early Morning Shooting

Police are on the lookout for a person who shot a man in the head early Tuesday morning in Burlington.

At around 2:44 am, officers were dispatched to 318 Curran Street to a report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was transported to Great River Medical Center before being airlifted to St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. He is expected to live.

Burlington Police Detective Jeff Klein says that police have identified a suspect after speaking to witnesses, but no arrests have been made.

The victim is a 43 year old male, his identification has not been released pending notification of the family.
