Chicago Cubs Advance to NLCS

The the adulation of some and the disappointment of others in the area, the Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals last night 6-4 at Wrigley Field to advance to the NLCS. They’ll face the winner of the series between the New York Mets and the LA Dodgers in the NLCS. The Cardinals still walk away with the best record in the Major Leagues this year.

That series didn’t come to a conclusion last night. The Mets and Dodgers will play to the bitter end as LA forced game five last night by winning 3-1.

Johnny Cueto (Qway-toh) will start on the mound for the Kansas City Royals today in the final game of their split series with the Houston Astros. The winner moves on to face the winner of the series between the Texas Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays, which will also wrap up tonight.

The results of an autopsy following the death of New York Giants safety and former Hawkeye Tyler Sash were released yesterday. The former Iowa safety accidentally overdosed on pain mediacation. He was found dead at his Oskaloosa home on September 8th.
