Police: Man Held Captive, Beaten in Burlington Apartment

A Burlington man says that he was tied to a chair and beaten for hours on Sunday night, and now Burlington Police have arrested at least one person they believe to be involved.

The victim stated that he went to a friends apartment at 301 Maple Street on Sunday Afternoon, and upon stepping into that apartment, he was punched in the face and knocked unconscious.

When the victim came to, he told police he was tied to a chair and assaulted for several hours by at least two people.

Police say one of those suspects is 18 year old Dovie Manning of Burlington. She’s been charged with 2nd Degree Kidnapping and is being held on $25,000 bond.

Police say more arrests are anticipated.
