Man Held Captive in Burlington Apartment was Tortured, Court Records Indicate

Court records indicate that the man who was held captive and tortured for hours on Sunday at a Burlington Apartment was cut with knives, beaten, and burned during the multi-hour long ordeal.

That came to light following a hearing yesterday for 18 year old Dovie Manning, who is charged with 2nd degree kidnapping in the case. She’s being held on $100,000 bond, which was increased from $25,000 during Tuesday’s hearing.

The victim, a 25 year old man, told police that he went to a friends apartment at 301 Maple Street on Sunday Afternoon, and upon stepping into that apartment, he was punched in the face and knocked unconscious.

When the victim came to, he told police he was tied to a chair and assaulted for several hours by at least two people. He escaped from the apartment early Monday morning.

Police say they’re still on the lookout for other suspects.
