Clothing Fire Damages Burlington House

The Burlington Fire Department is investigating a house fire that happened last night on Oak Street.

The Fire Department responded at 7:43PM to 1304 Oak Street, upon arrival no smoke was showing from the building, but entry crews discovered smoke inside the house.

The entry crew discovered evidence of a fire that began in a pile of clothes, and then rose up the wall into the ceiling, burning a PVC water pipe. The water pipe then burst, extinguishing the fire.

How exactly the clothing caught fire is still under investigation. The Burlington Police Department has been called in to assist the Burlington Fire Department with the investigation. The firemen were on scene for about three and a half hours.
