Apparent Meth Operation Discovered During Child Welfare Check

Burlington Police and DHS officials discovered evidence of a meth operation while conducting a welfare check on several children at a Burlington home.

On Wednesday, Burlington Police responded to 514 Barrett Street after Department of Human Services officials were called out to the home. During the welfare check, police discovered several bags containing a strong-smelling substance in the upstairs area of the home.

The bags were determined to contain meth-making material. Police discovered 41 year old Anthony Ray Ahlen-Prado hiding underneath a bed in the residence. Ahlen-Prado was the subject of a no contact order with a woman who lived in the house.

Ahlen-Prado was arrested and charged with violation of a no contact order, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of lithium, an ingredient used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
