Sports for 11/4

The Fort Madison Volleyball team’s season has come to an end. The Bloodhounds lost to 4th ranked Marion last night in the Class 4A regional finals in a sweep. They finish their season at 18 wins 18 losses.

They’re celebrating in Kansas City still. The World Champion Kansas City Royals paraded through the streets of their city yesterday, having won their first world series title in 30 years over the weekend.

NASCAR will suspend Matt Kenseth for two races after he intentionally crashed into Joey Logano at Martinsville, supposedly to exact revenge from a crash that occurred weeks earlier in Kansas City. Kenseth was already nine laps down in the race that Logano needed to win to secure a spot in the Sprint Cup finale we he caused the accident. Danica Patrick was also fined for intentionally wrecking David Gilliand earlier in that same race.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are ranked in the top ten in the first College Football Playoff poll. They’re ranked #9. They need to be in the top four to make it to the College Football Playoffs. They’re 8-0 so far this year.
