Two Gladstone kids are hoping to make Christmas a little better this year for area Children, and make Thanksgiving a little tastier for Henderson County residents with a Free Thanksgiving Dinner at the Gladstone Community Building this weekend.

Peyton Dawson and Brooklyn Miller are cousins who started the event. Dawson said they came up with the idea four years ago.

“One day we were in a car and me and my cousin thought we should do it, so we…did it,” Dawson told KBUR.

Miller said that they wanted to do something for less fortunate kids as well as feed the community.

“[We did it] because we like to bake and give thanks to everybody,” said Miller.

The event takes place this Sunday, November 15th, at the Gladstone Community Building between noon and 3:00 pm.
