CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) — A Coralville man has been charged with sexual abuse for inappropriately touching a 4-year-old child.
The Des Moines Register reports that 71-year-old Raymond Wagehoft was caring for the girl on Oct. 6 when he made inappropriate sexual contact with her while she was naked.
A police complaint says the victim was crying when Wagehoft’s wife came home. The girl told her that Wagehoft hurt her and also repeated this story in a Child Protection Center interview.
Wagehoft is charged with second-degree sexual abuse, lascivious acts with a child and child endangerment. He faces up to 37 years in prison if convicted.
He’s being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
