CHICAGO (AP) — A suburban Chicago couple has pleaded guilty to charges they stole millions of dollars in goods during a decade-long shoplifting spree.
Branko Bogdanov and his wife, Lela, pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of transporting stolen goods across state lines. The couple admitted in a plea agreement with prosecutors to stealing as much as $9.5 million in goods dating to 2004.
The 59-year-old Bogdanov and 53-year-old Lela allegedly operated in tandem with their daughter to pilfer merchandise and sell it on eBay. Thirty-nine-year-old Julia Bogdanov pleaded guilty on Thursday to her involvement in the scheme.
The family originally is from the former Yugoslavia. They were arrested in March 2014 at their home in the wealthy suburb of Northbrook.
Bogdanov and his wife are scheduled to be sentenced in March.
