Obituaries Tuesday November 17th

Barry Leon Anderson, 75, of Burlington, Iowa died at 11:37 AM Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

Born December 29, 1939, in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of James Leon and Josephine Dixie Anderson, who preceded him in death.

Barry worked for J.I. Case in Terre Haute, IN and was transferred to Burlington in 1987. He was the Manager of Inventory Planning and retired in 2004.

He was a 1958 graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute, IN and a 1972 graduate of Indiana State University majoring in Business Administration.

He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from 1958 – 1962.

He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a member of the Burlington Golf Club, and Masonic Order of Terre Haute, IN. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching football, cooking, eating, and cherished time with his daughter and grandchildren. He never knew a stranger, and was always willing to help.

Survivors include one daughter, Blair (Jonathan) Babineaux of Braselton, GA; her brothers, Derek Orton of Phoenix, AZ and Jason (Shameca) Orton of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren, Jonae, Jonathan Jr., Gaven, Kaylin, Jerin, and Jaedyn; two brothers, Michael W. Anderson of Flint, MI and James Robert (Patricia) Anderson of Anderson, IN; one sister, Delores (Leon) Carter of Indianapolis, IN; 11 nieces and nephews, Leesa Franklin, Deon Carter, Todd Carter, Leon Carter Jr., Miko Jeffries, Michael Anderson, Michi Hill, Angela Anderson, Michael A. Anderson, Jeffrey Anderson, and Eric Anderson, several great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Arrangements and Cremation have been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory, Burlington, Iowa.

As per Barry’s request there will be no visitation or services.

Gary L. Wichhart, 77, of Rockford, Illinois and formerly of New London, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 in Rockford.

A funeral service for Mr. Wichhart will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Pastor Matt Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery, New London with Military Rites presented by the Henry County Honor Guard. Visitation will begin after 9:00 AM on Wednesday, with the family greeting friends for one hour prior to the service. A memorial has been established to Northern Illinois Hospice.
