Kyle Busch is NASCAR’s 2015 Sprint Cup Champion after winning Sunday’s championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, nine months after crashing into a concrete wall just before the Daytona 500, breaking his right leg and left foot. He missed 11 races at the beginning of the season. Jeff Gordon wrapped up his career with the race, finishing sixth.
Iowa State has fired head coach Paul Rhoads, effective after Saturday’s game at West Virginia. Under Rhoads, the Cyclones have won only eight games in the last three seasons.
The Iowa Hawkeyes, meanwhile, moved up to #3 in this week’s AP Poll, their highest ranking since 2002.
In the NFL, Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 30-13, Kansas City Chiefs dominated the Chargers, 33-3, Bears fell to the Broncos, 17-15, and the Rams fell to the Ravens, 16-13.
