Two people are dead following a four vehicle accident on Sunday in Lee County.
The Iowa State Patrol says in a news release that 55 year old Clinton Meeker of Donnellson was driving at an unsafe speed southbound in the northbound lane on Iowa Highway 27, and struck a vehicle driven by 49 year old Diana Martinez DeLacruz of Houston, Texas.
The other two vehicles, one driven by 25 year old Douglas Harris of Oskaloosa, and the other by 51 year old Richard Kolosick of Cedar Rapids, were behind DeLacruz and collided with her vehicle after the initial impact.
Meeker and DeLacruz were both killed in the collision. A passenger in the Harris vehicle, 49 year old Lynne Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa, was injured and taken to Keokuk Area Hospital.
The accident is still under investigation.
