A man from Dallas City, Illinois, is a suspect in an early Sunday morning stabbing of a Fort Madison man.

Stanley Joe Davis, age 26, of Fort Madison was allegedly stabbed twice in the chest, near the 1500 block of Ave G., on March 20th, by Shawn Lee DeHaven, age 44, of rural Dallas City.

Fort Madison Police Chief Bruce Gustafson says that the police believe the stabbing was due to an argument over a woman and is not related to the stabbing that happened in the same area, earlier this week.

Gustafson says that DeHaven is wanted for attempted murder, willful injury and going armed with intent in Iowa. Gustafson adds that DeHaven should be considered armed and dangerous.

DeHaven is also wanted for parole violation in Illinois. Authorities are asking for any information about DeHaven’s whereabouts to be called in to local law enforcement.

Law enforcement has recovered the vehicle that DeHaven had been driving in Illinois and the Illinois State Police did use their airplane to assist in searching for him however at this time DeHaven is still on the loose.
