Sports for 6-24

The Notre Dame baseball team took down West Burlington in a game that was played in two ballparks after the lights shut off at Notre Dame’s Winegard park during the game. The game finished in West Burlington with the Nikes winning 3-1.  Burlington beat Cedar Rapids Washington 13-3. Danville over IMS 9-5. New London over Winfield-Mt. Union 4-1. Wapello over Pekin 8-3.

Softball saw Louisa-Muscatine over Central Lee 4-1. 5th ranked New London clobbered Winfield-Mt. Union 20-0. 11th ranked Mount Pleasant beat 7th ranked Keokuk 6-5. Wapello over Pekin 13-3. Lone Tree over Columbus 11-2. Danville over IMS 12-6.

The Burlington Bees downed Peoria in a 14 inning game 5-4.

The Cubs fell to Miami 4-2. White Sox lost to Boston 8-7. Twins lost to Philadelphia 7-3.

And the Chicago Bulls selected Denzel Valentine with the 14th overall pick in last night’s NBA Draft. Valentine is a small forward from Michigan State. Louisiana State forward Ben Simmons was picked first overall by the Philadelphia 76ers.
