Lura McDonald
 
Lura E. McDonald, 88, of Burlington, died Monday, July 25, 2016, at her home in Burlington.
Born March 17, 1928, in Dahinda, IL, she was the daughter of Clarence W. and Elsie L. Blust Tucker. On June 5, 1948, she married Robert W. McDonald in West Burlington. He died on April 20, 2002.
She worked for Lamont Ltd. for 16 years and retired in 1990.
She was a 1946 graduate of Coal City High School, Coal City, IL.
She was of Protestant faith. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved crocheting, fishing, word puzzles, and garage sales. She was born on St. Patrick’s Day and loved all things Irish.
Survivors include two sons, Robert W. (Shirley) McDonald, Jr. of West Burlington, Michael W. McDonald of Burlington; one daughter, Margaret E. (Gary) Crabtree of LaGrange, MO; one son-in-law, Ron Richenberger of Morning Sun, IA; five grandchildren, Katie (Caleb) Smith, Amie (Adam) Herrick, Jesse McDonald, Jaime McDonald, Ronda (Leo) Schinstock; five great-grandchildren, Cohen Gunnison, Aleyah McDonald, Kinsley Gunnison, Conner Herrick, and one on the way, Baby Schinstock; one brother, Harold E. Tucker of Spokane, WA; three sisters, Betty M. Scott of Peoria, IL, E. Jane Hlavach of Washington, IL, Carol A. Swanson of Long Beach, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark, one daughter, Luellen, adopted son, Bill Bowers, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday, August 1, 2016 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home & Crematory.
The funeral service for Mrs. McDonald will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 1, 2016, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Larry Dodds officiating.  Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for HCI Hospice and Sunnyside Avenue Baptist Church.
