The Burlington Bees couldn’t finish off the sweep of the Kane County Cougars, losing 2-1 last night at Community Field. The Bees hit the road, starting a three-game series at Peoria tonight.
The St. Louis Cardinals lost to the New York Mets 10-6. White Sox beat Seattle 7-6. Minnesota Twins fell to Detroit 8-5. Kansas City Royals beat Miami 5-2.
The Burlington High School Volleyball team swept Keokuk last night in three games. Winfield-Mount Union swept West Burlington in their season opener. Mediapolis won both of their matches at the Columbus Triangular, sweeping both Louisa-Muscatine and Columbus.
The Burlington High School swim team took third at the Davenport West Triangular with 34 points. Rock Island won with 105, second place was Davenport West with 44.
