In prep volleyball action Fort Madison beat Keokuk in a sweep. At the Southeast Iowa Superconference tournament, New London took first in Notre Dame pool play, followed by the hosts and Pekin. In Wapello pool play Wapello came in first followed by Highland and Louisa-Muscatine. Mediapolis won their pool play as well with Winfield-Mount Union in second and Central Lee in third. In the Danville pool, Holy Trinity took first with Lone Tree and West Burlington behind them.
On the Illinois side, Unity beat Illini West in three games.
Burlington High School won the Tony Proctor Invitational Cross Country meet with 41 points.
The Kansas City Royals dropped a game to Cleveland for the second game in a row, 5-2. The Minnesota Twins were swept in a doubleheader by Detroit, 9-2 and 4-2 respectively.
