In volleyball action last night on the prep level, West Central took down Annawan two games to one. On the college level, Southeastern fell to Kirkwood Community College at home in a three-game sweep.
The Chicago Cubs suffered a loss on the road against Pittsburgh, losing 8-4. The St. Louis Cardinals fell to Cincinnati 2-1, they’re now 2 1/2 games behind in the wild-card race. The Kansas City Royals beat the Minnesota Twins, 5-2. White Sox downed Tampa 1-0.
In prep action tonight Notre Dame takes on Cardinal, Holy Trinity at Danville, Louisa-Muscatine at Highland, Pekin at Winfield-Mount Union, Van Buren at Columbus, WACO at Wapello. Illini West at West Central, South Fulton at West Hancock, West Prarie at Bushnell-Prarie City.
