The Chicago Cubs managed to even their National League Championship Series against the Dodgers with a 10-2 rout of LA last night on the road. The series is tied at 2-2. The winner of that series will go on to face the Cleveland Indians in the World Series. Indians beat the Toronto Blue Jays last night 3-0 to secure the American League Pennant for the first time since 1997.
Burlington High School’s Volleyball team downed Ottumwa in the Class 5A regional playoffs in a three game sweep. Fort Madison swept Keokuk in class 4A. It took five games but West Burlington couldn’t hold on against Central Lee in class 3A.
In sports action tonight Illini West hosts Southeastern. Local teams will also compete in the Cross Country state qualifying meets.
