The Chicago Cubs have started down a game in the World Series after Cleveland Indians Pitchers Corey Kluber and Andrew Miller combined to shut out the Cubs 6-0 in the first World Series game featuring the Cubs since 1945. The two teams meet again tonight in Cleveland, first pitch is 6:08 our time, Cubs ace Jake Arrieta will take the mound to start game two. He will face Indians starter Trevor Bauer, fresh off of a finger injury.

Burlington’s Volleyball team is done for the year after being eliminated in the class 5A regional semifinals by 9th ranked Bettendorf on the road in a sweep. Fort Madison suffered a similar fate as they fell to Cedar Rapids Xavier in a sweep in class 4A. Mount Pleasant also fell in 4A semifinal action to Oskaloosa in a sweep.

In the NHL the St. Louis Blues fell to Calgary, 4-1.
