The Hawkeye’s avenged an earlier Big 10 loss last night by taking down 17th ranked Purdue, 83-78 at home in a game heard on KBUR.
In prep wrestling, Burlington downed Keokuk 47-34 at home but fell to Davenport West in the tiebreaker round, 40-39, and to 4th ranked North Scott, 77-19. Mediapolis beat Cardinal 54-18 and WACO 52-30. Louisa-Muscatine beat West Burlington-Notre Dame 66-9, Muscatine 54-22, and Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union 57-23. West Burlington-Notre Dame also fell to Muscatine 60-12 and Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union 42-40. New London beat Van Buren 62-6 and blanked Lone Tree 67-0. Van Buren beat Lone Tree 21-18. Mount Pleasant fell to Washington 51-17 and Fort Madison fell to Fairfield 35-31.
In prep basketball, Illini West fell to Mendon Unity 39-35.
