The Notre Dame Nike girls are heading back to the Class 1A state championship for the fifth straight year in a row after downing Easton Valley 49-42 on the road in Muscatine to claim the regional title.
The Burlington boys team had their season ended at the hands of Davenport Central in a 74-40 loss at the Class 4A substate quarterfinal. In Class 3A, Mount Pleasant beat Keokuk 67-30 to advance to the district championship game against Fort Madison, who beat Chariton 52-48.
In college action, Iowa State beat Texas Tech in an 82-80 overtime win.
In the NHL, the St. Louis Blues fell to Florida, 2-1.
