Five Arrested After Fight and Gunfire At Mt. Pleasant McDonalds

Five arrests were made in connection with a fight that involved gunfire at a Mt. Pleasant McDonalds on Tuesday. Mt. Pleasant Police say in a press release that officers were called to a report of a fight in the parking lot of the restaurant, and were then told that one of the subjects involved was firing a gun. Prior to arrival, the officers were advised that those involved had fled, two on foot, and the others in two separate vehicles.

Police located one of the vehicles involved while on the way to the scene, a black sports utility vehicle that appeared to have been shot multiple times. The two men that fled on foot were located at an apartment complex to the west of the restaurant and were both taken into custody.

The second vehicle was located in Des Moines County, the Sherriff’s office says that a deputy stopped the car, described as a 1998-four-door Chevrolet and took the driver into custody, transporting him back to the county line where he was turned over to Mt. Pleasant Police.

Five arrests were made, including two Galesburg men who were charged with Attempted Murder, 22-year old Kenny Brown, and 19-year-old Allen Peden.

Also charged in connection with the incident were 19-year-old Tyrance Campbell of Burlington, who was charged with theft in the 2nd-degree, a class D Felony, as well as 23-year-old Robert McClendon of Burlington, and 23-year old Lewis Christen of Chicago, who were both charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
