Many Events Going on Throughout the Area This Weekend

As parts of the state deal with blizzards and over a foot of snow, Burlington will see only slightly cooler temperatures and a little bit of rain this weekend, making it easier to get to the many events going on throughout the area.

The 2017 Pritchard Broadcasting Home Show will be taking place at the Pzazz Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The show will feature upwards of sixty vendors ready to help you transform your home.

Also throughout the area, there is an antique tractor show at the Westland Mall on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 – 5:00 PM, which will feature dozens of tractors from the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

Magician Jay Owenhouse will be performing at the Burlington Memorial Auditorium on Saturday night. The Show begins at 7PM and tickets are available at the BMA Box Office, or at the Port of Burlington Welcome Center.

The Burlington Public Library will be hosting “Read Aloud to a Buddy” where children can read aloud with an adult, dog, or a stuffed giraffe at 10:00 on Saturday.

The United Methodist Church will be having their annual Spaghetti Supper from 4:30 to 7:00 in Fellowship Hall.

The Lee County Pheasants Forever Banquet is taking place at the Comfort Inn in Fort Madison starting with a social hour at 5:00 Saturday, Dinner at 7:00 and the auction at 8:00.

The Players Workshop will have a show called “Alibis” at 7:30 on Saturday and 2:00 and 7:30  on Sunday at the Little Theater on Grove Street. The Box Office opens at noon and tickets will be sold at the door.

The Mediapolis Community Theater is sponsoring the River City 6 Band at 7:00 in the Mediapolis School auditorium Saturday night.

A Free educational program called “Medicare and Your Options” is happening at the Comfort Suites in Burlington. No registration is required, you can learn more by calling John Corey at (319) 201-0052.

The Moose Lodge in Fort Madison is having Bingo on Saturday, doors open at 11:00 and bingo starts at 1PM.

The Old Fort Players will present “If the Good Lord’s Willing and the Creek Don’t Rise” at 7:30 on Saturday at 725 Avenue G in Fort Madison.

The Mediapolis Fire Explorers are having their inaugural soup supper from 4:00 to 6:30 on Sunday at the Mediapolis Fire Department. This is to help the group attend the Fire Department Instructors Conference in Indianapolis.

The Van Buren Players will present Shrek: The Musical at 7:00 at the Roberts Memorial Building in Keosauqua on Saturday and Sunday nights.
