The Illinois men’s basketball team won their first round in the NIT with an 82-75 win over Valparaiso. Iowa takes on South Dakota in NIT action this evening. That game can be heard at 8:00 tonight on Newsradio 99.3 and 1490 KBUR. Tip off was moved from 6:00 pm.
SCC’s softball team notched their fifth and then sixth straight victories in a swing through Cocoa Beach, Florida as they beat Chesapeake 3-0 and Suffolk County-Seldon 11-1. They’ll continue against Spoon River College and Rowan College tonight. The SCC Baseball team will play State Fair. Iowa’s baseball team will take on Iowa Wesleyan.
In the NHL, the Chicago Blackhawks beat Montreal 4-2.
In preseason baseball the Chicago Cubs tied Milwaukee 7-7. White Sox fell to Seattle 7-6. Kansas City Royals beat the LA Angels 8-4.
