The Midwest Magic Basketball team has been preparing for their fourth annual fundraising basketball game against the Burlington Police Department, a game that coach Brett Mitchell describes as the team’s Super Bowl, Wrestlemania, and World Series all combined.

A Magical Afternoon 4 will take place Sunday at the Burlington High School Gymnasium, and be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1360 at 4 PM.

“These players look forward to this game all year long, six months after the game they are still talking about it, and six months before the game they are looking forward to it,” said Coach Mitchell, adding that the players spend all year preparing for this one game.

The funds raised at A Magical Afternoon go to the team, which plays multiple sports and has more than forty special needs players throughout the area, for the entire year.

Mitchell describes the game as more of a production than a pure scrimmage game, saying that there is comedy, entertainment, and an amazing atmosphere for the event.

The Midwest Magic have won the last three Magical Afternoon games, as for their chances for a fourth win on Sunday… “Every year the game gets closer and closer…” said Mitchell, adding “…but I like our chances this year.”

A Magical Afternoon 4 will take place Sunday at 4PM, Tickets are available at Hopefully Yours, and both Hy-Vee locations throughout town, as well as at the door on Sunday.
