Police Arrest Felon Who Tried to Flee Traffic Stop On Foot

Burlington Police arrested a felon who tried to flee during a traffic stop on Saturday night.

Terrel Wilson, 23, of Burlington, was arrested on Central Ave. and Division St. in Burlington at 8:05 p.m. on March 25. The car he was riding in was pulled over for a traffic violation. Officers found a handgun inside the vehicle that they determined had been stolen by Wilson.

Wilson left the scene against the direction of the officers and was found in Walgreens shortly thereafter.

Wilson was charged with Carrying Weapons, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Interference of Official Acts, and Theft in the 4th Degree.

He is being held at the Des Moines County Jail, awaiting his appearance before the judge. Until he sees the judge, he has no bond.
